About us

Better data means a better chance at finding a cure.

FLC is an extremely rare cancer. It’s estimated 200 people around the world have this disease. That makes it very difficult for doctors to get enough data about patients with FLC to find patterns that could lead to finding causes and treatments.

With The FLC Project, we’re trying to bring patients and doctors together, so patients can share their histories securely with the world’s leading FLC researchers. We hope that by collecting the largest collection of FLC patient data, we can get closer to finding what causes FLC and how best to treat it.

Who we are

We are 2 doctors from a leading cancer center committed to fighting FLC.

With a combined 247 years of experience researching and treating FLC, we’re leading The FLC Project.

I am a board-certified medical oncologist who treats patients with gastrointestinal cancers. My specialization is in primary liver cancer hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), intrahepatic and extrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (IHC), gallbladder cancer (GB), pancreatic cancer, and fibrolamellar carcinoma (FLC). As part of a multidisciplinary group, my colleagues and I offer patients a team approach to treating these cancers. My research covers all mentioned disease and is now focused on the integration of the better understanding of the risks for developing fibrolamellar carcinoma (FLC), and its treatment with novel molecular-based approaches.
